The Renaissance of Bazalgette’s Crossness Pumping Station

It’s a bit of a trek out through Thamesmead into the marshes (a bleak but captivating experience in its own right), but the Romanesque-ish Crossness Pumping Station, built by Joseph Bazalgette in 1865, is quite fantastic – I wrote about it here for Icon, though I hope to go back when Prince Consort is next in motion…
