LeaderTransport in the 1950s and 1960s is often reduced to sad tales of the decline of rail, ignoring the high quality of the architecture being created, and not just on the newly created British Rail. Along with new developments in airports and ports, whole new typologies were being created by the growth of the automobile – car parks, service stations, garages and, perhaps most importantly, the motorways themselves.
